Testimonial: SexToys.co.uk

SexToys.co.uk was the first adult website I ever purchased anything from, largely stemming from the fact it was the number one result when I typed “sex toys” into Google, but to this day it has remained my most used online retailer for all things coital, and for good reason.

SexToys.co.uk has a great catalogue of products aimed at men, which covers all the major brands. I find that with something as personal as a sex toy, choice is paramount, as finding a toy that works for you is definitely not a one size fits all approach. Whether you’re looking for masturbators or anal toys, there is a wide range on offer, helping you to select the perfect FleshJack texture, or a butt plug with a size and shape that hits the right spot every time. They even stock all the every day essentials like condoms and lube.
One of my favourite things about SexToys.co.uk is that they make the bold claim to have the lowest prices on the internet. I mean, who doesn’t like low prices? What I like even more is that they’re prepared to back this up with their price match feature, something I have personally taken advantage of on several occasions, and walked away with a nice saving. How it works is if you find an item cheaper anywhere else, and tell them about it, then they’ll promise to beat it. What more could you ask for?
The delivery is great at SexToys.co.uk because it’s fast, and it’s free! What’s more, the more you spend, the faster the mode of shipping they use, and at no extra charge. The orders are despatched quickly, so typically I’ve received things the very next day, even on the standard delivery method. The items all come packaged very discreetly, as you would expect from any self-respecting sex toy merchant, ensuring no embarrassment around nosey postmen or neighbours.
The SexToys.co.uk website is attractive and easy to navigate, meaning you won’t have trouble locating the item you’re looking for. They also have a great inbuilt community, where you can discuss your purchases with other people, and get advice on toys from the people who own and use them.
There are plenty of offers and discounts to be had. For new customers they offer £10 off your first order of £50 or more. Participating in the community earns points which translates to a percentage discount off every order, up to a maximum of 10%. With every order you receive a special discount code, which gives you 20% off your next order, if placed within the next 14-days.
Finally, just in case anything goes wrong, they have friendly and helpful customer service agents on hand. Once when the price match wasn’t working on an item I wanted, I e-mailed them and they fixed it within minutes.
These are the reasons I continue to shop with SexToys.co.uk, and can gladly recommend it to anyone.

Doc Johnson Classic Butt Plug

I was looking for a large butt plug to help train myself to accept another toy, and that wouldn’t break the bank, and this cheap and cheerful item from Doc Johnson did just the trick.
If you’re looking for a higher quality version then check out my review of the Super Big End.

There’s not too much one can say about this butt plug, other than that it’s quite straight forward and it gets the job done.
The plug itself is constructed in two layers; there’s a thin outer shell made of a rather tough vinyl-like material, and this in turn is filled with a flexible rubber centre. The combination produces a firm solidly built product, leaving the only mould line hidden below the base. It’s not as soft as a silicone plug, but I still found it comfortable to insert.

The plug is quite long at 5.75″ – with 5″ of that being insertable – which gives it a very gentle gradient from the tip to the widest part of the bulb, which is 2.3″. With plenty of lubricant it’s possible to insert the the plug quite gradually, steadily increasing how much you can fit as the muscles adapt with each use, meaning it’s suitable for those with only a fairly moderate level of experience, as well as the more advanced user.

At the bottom of the plug is a good sized neck, meaning that once you’ve inserted the plug fully there’s space for the muscles to close down behind it and hold it securely in place for prolonged wearing. Attached to this is a wide flared base which prevents the possibility of the toy becoming lost inside you, and which also doubles as a solid handle for pulling the plug out again once you’re finished. Removing the plug shouldn’t be an issue, due to the gently rounded underside of the bulb, which encourages the muscles to dilate when need be.
The plug does come with a noticeable odour; it’s not unpleasant, but did eventually perfume my entire toy drawer with its fruity fragrance.
For the price this is an excellent product, and a good way to embark on butt plug exploration, or even to replace an older tired model you have lying around.
The Classic Butt Plug is available in the UK from SexToys.co.ukLovehoney, and ThatPosition.

Double Bubble Gum Drops

Originally I bought this butt plug from the Doc Johnson ‘Gum Drops’ range because not only did I think it looked attractive, but because I made the mistake of thinking that due to the shape it would be a useful tool for anal training and working up to the larger section. It ended up taking a while and the purchase of an additional toy before I could finally fit it in completely, but generally I have been pleased.

The first thing to say about this plug is that it’s only really suitable for someone who can already accommodate its full size. I point this out early on because the shape can be quite deceptive. You’d be forgiven for looking at it and assuming that with the smaller and larger areas, it would be ideal for gradually training your muscles up to accepting the whole thing, but you’d be mistaken. Due to the unique shape, and the length of the plug, the result is two sections both with quite a steep gradient compared to a traditional plug. This makes the plug more difficult to insert if you’re not used to it; once you get over the first ‘bubble’ the muscles close back down around it and then have to start expanding again from scratch in order to take the larger section. By this point you’ve lost a portion of the overall length, and so the muscles have to expand a greater amount over a shorter distance, and you’re liable to find they simply won’t comply, even if you keep pushing until you’re blue in the face. So, if you haven’t taken this size before then start with a more traditional shape, as the gentle taper will ease its way through the muscles more gradually and you’ll make better progress.
With that out of the way we can look into the specifications:
Aesthetically it’s a very attractive toy to look at, thanks to the combination of the unusual shape and the translucent ruby-red colour. You might find yourself tempted to put it out on a shelf for decoration, if you’re not worried about the suspicious glances of any visitors.
The plug is made of PVC, which I found to be quite a hard material to the touch, especially when compared to something such as silicone. As a result of this I didn’t find it to be an especially comfortable toy to insert, but you may disagree if you typically enjoy glass and metal toys. The build quality is generally good and free from mould lines, but is let down in some areas; it’s noticeably asymmetrical, there are half a dozen visible air bubbles within the plastic, and there’s the odd lump and bump along the otherwise smooth contours of the surface, none of which really amount to a deal breaker.
The plug noticeably has two main sections, the first “bubble” with a diameter of 1.6″, and the second with 2.25″. There is a lack of any neck on the toy near to the base, with 4.25″ being insertable, of the total 4.6″ height. This means that once the plug is inside, there isn’t really any space for the muscles to close down behind it, and hold it in place. If you want to leave it in then you can’t just relax and forget about it, but rather must actively clench to hold it there. The flip side is that it’s incredibly easy to take out when you’re ready. To finish it off there’s a flexible 3″ x 1.2″ base to prevent any mishaps, this is a little flimsy and bends and twists a lot when you’re grabbing it, and could do with being a little thicker to increase its strength.
The toy is not completely odour free. The smell it has is not overly strong or unpleasant, but it is present.
Over all the toy is pretty fun, with the shape adding a little something extra over the traditional butt plug form, and it represents good value for money.
Readers in the UK can buy the plug from SexToys.co.uk.

With this first post I officially join the ranks of the sex toy bloggers throughout the Internet!
I decided to create this blog because sex toys are something I have an interest in, and have been talking and writing about for a while. A blog seemed like the perfect place to opine on the subject, and to aggregate all the reviews I leave on online stores. I also wanted to offer a male perspective on a subject which is typically dominated by a number of very competent female bloggers.
I’m always open to to trying a wide variety of toys, so expect reviews on everything from masturbators to prostate massagers to butt plugs and beyond! Many of the items I review I’ve purchased myself, and on other occasions retailers which I shall credit have generously sent them to me for free, but I always maintain an honest and impartial assessment of them.
I don’t write with a specific audience in mind, and as many of the toys are unisex, and able to be enjoyed by both men and women, gay and straight alike, I believe that there should be something here for everyone.
This blog is a work in progress, so there may be some style changes along the way, but I hope you enjoy reading it and it proves useful.
