Give Lube Premium Aqua Gel

The very generous people at Give Lube kindly sent me a couple of bottles of their product to review, so many thanks to them, and without further ado…

Give Lube comes in two varieties, the water-based Premium Aqua Gel, and also a silicone-based Silicone+. Both are dermatalogically tested, CE marked medical lubricants. As well as being colourless, odourless and unscented, they’re free from parabens, glycerin and oil, are suitable for all types of sexual activity, and contain added aloe vera to nourish the skin.
The Premium Aqua Gel is available in three sizes: mini, midi, and maxi, which are 30ml, 100ml, and 250ml respectively. All come in lovely discreet bottles, which can easily be slipped into a bedside drawer, bathroom cabinet, or luggage if you want to take it travelling. As it is a water-based lubricant it’s completely safe to use with all your favourite sex toys, and condoms.
The lube has a lovely consistency, it’s not too thin and watery like the Gun Oil H2O, but it’s not thick like a gel either. It spreads easily and provides a good coverage, but without dripping everywhere and making a mess. Rubbing a drop of it between my thumb and forefinger, I was actually surprised that I was feeling a water-based lube, because it just felt so smooth and slick. The near-frictionless gliding action I experienced made me really curious about how it would feel on the genitalia, and I ended up testing it earlier than I intended

I’m not one who typically uses lube for masturbation, but the Give Lube actually felt great when applied to the penis, and I found that I only needed a small amount to achieve that effect. There was something incredibly natural about it; there wasn’t an awareness of being covered in lube, everything just functioned how it should, but enhanced. In the past I’ve found that certain lubes can slightly decrease the sensation from masturbation, but that wasn’t the case here at all. It also seemed very gentle to the skin, and almost soothing, which must have something to do with the pH-optimised formula and added panthenol.

For the most part the Give Lube was not sticky or gummy at all; it was only for a couple of seconds before it dried completely that I noticed a slight tackiness to the touch, which is actually very impressive. Once it had dried it left behind no residue, but as soon as I went to wash my hands I felt it reactivating with the water, so I had to put this to the test. It pleased me to find that if you add a little water to the lube at any point during use, it will return to its original state, so you can extend your use of it without having to use more product. It’s also very easy to clean up, and rinses away with running water.

Without adding any additional water to reactivate it, I found that the duration time for the lube during masturbation was comparable with other high-quality brands. When used with a Fleshjack I was also impressed by the lube. It provided a comfortable gliding action between the Superskin sleeve and the penis, and again I didn’t need to use that much. Normally with a thicker generic lube I’d need to put a couple of pumps into the cavity, but I found just a small drizzling of the Give Lube through the orifice was sufficient. The lube lasted a long time within the central canal of toy, and I didn’t need to apply any more there during my time using the toy. I think this is down to the lube being relativity thin, which is something I like when using a Fleshjack. Personally, next time I might be tempted to add a couple of drops of water into the Fleshjack along with the lube, just to dilute it slightly and create more of that wet feeling that I enjoy. The only area where I found that the lube did start to dry, was along the lower third of the shaft of the penis, which spent more time outside of the toy and exposed to the air. The tight anal opening of the Fleshjack did start to tug here, and I had to add a dab more lube, but if I had thought to bring some water with me I could have just added a drop to the area to reactivate the lube there. I’m more than satisfied that Give Lube and a FleshJack are a good combination, and will be using them together again.

Testing the lube with insertable toys, I found I actually needed to use less lube than I expected. I experimented with my Tantus Tulip butt plug, and with a little squirt of lube spread across the toy, and some on the body, it slipped in like a charm. There was no friction or dragging as it was inserted, and once the lube was inside the body it felt completely fine – again its presence wasn’t really noticeable as being anything foreign. The lube didn’t adhere to the surface of the silicone toy as well as I might have hoped, and left a patchy application, like water on the bonnet of a freshly washed car, but it wasn’t really a problem for a toy of that size. I won’t criticise it for this, as whenever you’re intending to use anything larger than that, you’re always going to want a thicker specialist anal lube.

The only negative I can point to is that the lube does taste slightly bitter, due to the aloe vera, which is something to bear in mind if  you’re going to be using it for oral sex. I stress the word “slightly” because it’s not that strong, and it’s only noticeable initially. Ultimately it will come down to a matter of taste; personally I enjoy Campari and take my Manhattans on the dry side, so the taste doesn’t bother me, others might not react to it at all, and for a few with a very sweet tooth it may be bothersome.

One thing I really love about Give Lube, is that it’s a local British company, based in Bristol. Personally I’m very into localism, and I try to support companies as close to home as much as possible, and with a fantastic product like Give Lube you really can feel good about doing so. So many of our sex toys and lubricants originate in the United States – you only have to look at how proudly Doc Johnson, for example, stamps “Made in America” on every box – so it’s nice to get behind people looking to pioneer something in the U.K.
Another thing that really impressed me was something they told me before sending my free sample. Following consumer feedback about the consistency of the lube, they made adjustments to the formula to increase the thickness. I find it very reassuring when a company is actually listening to its customers, and striving to satisfy them with its product.

Overall I’m incredibly impressed with the Premium Aqua Gel, and I can fully recommend it as my new favourite lubricant.

So thanks again to Give Lube for the samples, and check out my review of the Silicone+ right here.
Give Lube can currently be purchased from in Maxi, Midi, and Mini.

It’s also available from SexShop365 in those same sizes, MaxiMidi, and Mini.

Pierre Fitch Dildo

Back in September 2011 the lovely people at sent me this beautiful dildo from Fleshjack to test for them, and in the subsequent weeks following my review every single one sold out (something which I’d like to believe I played a part in).

This was actually my first phallic/realistic dildo, and it soon became one of my favourites. Up until that point I was only vaguely aware of who Pierre Fitch was, but this dildo left me as a firm fan. There’s something I find incredibly arousing about knowing that it was moulded from the penis of an actual person, and a porn star at that.

Read the review after the jump!

If you’ve ever imagined what it might be like to be on the receiving end of one of the mammoth manhoods featured in porn films, then Fleshjack have created what has to be the next best thing, with a range of dildos moulded directly from the penises of some of the biggest names in gay adult films, including Brent Everett, Brent Corrigan, and of course the popular 29-year-old French-Canadian porn star, Pierre Fitch, to name but a few. If like me you’re curious about how they did it, then there’s even a video on the Fleshjack website of the entire casting process, and I can guarantee you that it’s worth a watch.

Those familiar with other Fleshjack products will know that they all come packaged inside a rather nice cylindrical tin, and this dildo is no different. Once you pop it out, and free it from the heat-sealed plastic bag which encompasses it, you’re liable to be struck by the sheer size of it; photos and measurements aside, it’s only really possible appreciate the presence it has first-hand. The dildo’s dimensions measure 7 3/4” in length – not taking into account the curvature – and 6 1/4” of which are insertable, with a pair of balls the size of hens’ eggs accounting for the remainder. The girth varies from a modest circumference of 5 1/4” just below the head, to a full 6” around the widest insertable point at the base of the shaft. All taken together it feels like a big, thick, hefty item to hold in your hand.

With any initial shock over the size put aside, the next thing liable to catch your attention will be the sheer level of detail on the dildo; it’s truly exquisite, and something which could only come as a result of being cast directly from the warm throbbing erection of a real live model. All across the surface of the product every minute crease and wrinkle of the skin can be seen, every hair follicle on the scrotum is accounted for, and every vein which twists and branches across the shaft has been captured in full. There’s even a slight indentation at the point of the urinary meatus, and a ridge marking the remnants of the frenulum where the glans joins the shaft. The dildo is more than just an ordinary toy which you simply insert and forget about; it’s something that’s manufactured with care for those who would consider themselves to be true connoisseurs of the penis, and who will appreciate each and every facet.

Ergonomically the dildo has a rather interesting design to it, owing entirely to Pierre’s unique anatomy. Starting at the top you’ll notice that Pierre doesn’t have an especially flared glans, and this produces a nicely streamlined shape for insertion – it also means that you’re not going to feel any bump when you come to remove it, such as you might with a dildo which strongly accentuates the coronal ridge. Below the head the shaft of Pierre’s penis – and as such the dildo too – has a rather noticeable downward curve which starts approximately midway along the length. Much like with any real penis this gives you the option of picking the position and orientation that will suit you best when using it, and which will maximise your pleasure. Inserting the dildo from a doggy-style perspective means that the curve angles the head forwards towards the prostate, ensuring it makes contact with every thrust, while reversing it allows it to better follow the natural shape of the rectum and go in deeper more readily. There’s really no right or wrong way to do it, other than that which pleases you most, so it’s worth experimenting with; there’s even the option of rotating the dildo 180 or 360 degrees whilst inside if you wish. Another benefit of the curve is if you’re looking for something to practice your deep-throating technique on, as the gentle bend will help the dildo to slide down almost effortlessly as you overcome the gag-reflex. The veins along the shaft are worth commenting on briefly, because their prominence is not quite enough to produce any significant feeling during use if you were hoping for that, but overall there is a clear awareness that the surface of the dildo isn’t completely smooth. The base of the dildo is finished off by a rather large pair of balls which serve a practical purpose as well as being decorative. One thing I like about the balls is their asymmetry, in contrast to those of some of the other Fleshjack Boys, as it helps to give the dildo a little extra personality and I find it quite attractive. The weight of the balls acts to move the centre of gravity down towards the base of the dildo, and in combination with their wide footprint it creates a good amount of stability when standing the toy upright. If you plan to use the dildo this position, in a “riding” fashion, then you probably still will need to hold it in place somewhat, however there’s plenty of room on the smooth underside for a double-sided suction cup to be attached if you wish.

The dildo is manufactured from a premium medical-grade platinum silicone, which has the firmness you need for it to effortlessly hold its shape, but also the flexibility that you want for it to bend around inside your body. The build quality of the product cannot be faulted at all, and it’s completely free from mould lines or any visible surface defects.

Primarily it’s marketed as an anal dildo for the gay market, but in truth it’s a unisex product, and I’ve already converted several female reviewers I know onto the delights of the Fleshjack Boys dildos. Whether you’re a Pierre Fitch fan or not, if you’re looking for a quality realistic dildo then there’s no reason why this wouldn’t be suitable.
If I were forced to look for any negative then the only thing I’d pick up on is the drag. Because of the realistic texture of the skin it doesn’t glide quite as well as a product with a completely smooth shiny surface, so you may need to use a little extra lube. When cleaning it it’s also important to make sure that there’s no debris left in any of the areas of fine detail, but as it is silicone it’s completely safe to boil or bleach the dildo if you wish, and you can even put it in the dishwasher. Both of these minor issues can be avoided entirely, however, simply by protecting the dildo with a condom prior to usage.
All-in-all I love the Pierre Fitch dildo, and it’s one of the star pieces of my sex toy collection. I recommend  without hesitation that everyone goes out and buys one for themselves, and I’ll guarantee that you won’t regret it!

Fleshjack Ice Bottom Original

As someone who had been happily masturbating by hand for well over a decade I was always slightly dubious about the need for extra equipment. With the Fleshjack being an American product I had entertained the possibility that it had been developed in part to help compensate for the fact that the majority of them are circumcised, and thus it would be largely redundant for everyone else. After I got the opportunity to try out one of them I quickly changed my opinion, and soon purchased one for myself.

There are countless combinations of Fleshjacks to choose from, for the purposes of this review I will be focussing on the Ice material, with the bottom opening, and the original internal texture. I also have reviews of the Vortex Texture, the Flight, and the Sword.
Starting with the packaging, Fleshjacks come in a nice metal tin, which can be kept and used as a place to store the item in. It helps to give the item a quality feeling, rather than just being presented inside a cardboard box.
Ice Jacks have a clear plastic case, and the insert inside is translucent, with an appearance similar to frosted glassware. The outside of the case has some raised bands for the purpose of adding grip when using the product. The base cap of the case can be loosened or tightened to adjust the level of suction inside the toy during use. Unfortunately as there’s no rubber seal around the cap, no matter how tightly you screw it down air will always leak in, and you won’t achieve a complete vacuum, but if you are looking for a strong sucking sensation then it still delivers. The material of the insert feels wonderfully soft to the touch, and can be squeezed and stretched with ease, to the point that you’ll be eager to start using it as soon as you’ve felt it. One of the unique selling points of the Ice Jack is that you can see yourself inside it during use. In order to get the maximum benefit from this you’ll need to first submerge the insert in water, as it becomes more transparent when wet. You won’t get a completely clear view of what’s going on, but there is enough detail visible for you to make out what you need to. I’ll admit that it was quite arousing to see a throbbing penis thrusting in and out of it, even if it was my own. There is something rather novel about this aspect, and once the novelty inevitably wears off you’ll find yourself paying less attention to what’s happening inside the Fleshjack, and paying more attention to the porn DVD you’re probably watching. While it’s a nice option to have, it’s probably not worth spending too much extra money on.
The bottom variant has as anal opening which is quite realistic in appearance. Around the small central hole the area is textured, to mimic the puckering of a real anus when closed. You really get the effect of it if you slowly run a finger around it in circles. The bottom opening is the tightest, but it only lasts for the depth of about a centimetre before opening onto the inner texture. As it’s quite a narrow opening the most efficient way to apply lube to the inside of the insert is with a pump bottle or lubricant syringe. The best way to enjoy the tightness of the butt opening is to just pop the head of the penis in and out of it, as you really do feel it then, and along with the slight resistance it provides it helps to imitate real anal sex. Because the material is so stretchy, once you’ve fully inserted yourself and are enjoying the Fleshjack, you won’t really notice any extra tightness from the opening around the base of the shaft.

The original texture has a completely smooth central canal with a uniform diameter of 17mm or 5/8″ throughout the length. When using the product it stretches to provide a nice snug grip on the penis, but without excessive tightness. I really enjoyed the feeling of it and found it to be more than sufficient, but people who tend to squeeze their penis quite firmly when masturbating might be wise to go for a narrower texture. The smooth interior feels very satisfying, but after using it a number of times I did start to get a little bored of it, and wished that there were some lumps and bumps to add intriguing points of excitement and extra stimulation along the way. Because the inside is smooth it means a smaller surface area, which in turn means you won’t need so much lube to cover it all. What lube you use is going to be a big factor in how much you enjoy it; you want to use water-based only, to protect the material, and something long lasting, to avoid the need to apply more just as you’re about to climax, or worse, thrusting when its dried up, causing both chafing to yourself and fissures inside the sleeve. The experience is supposed to feel more realistic if you first heat up the insert to body temperature. The microwave is not suitable for this, and so it is recommended that you try submerging it in hot water. In my experience the insert did not absorb much heat from the water and it wasn’t worth the bother.

With proper care, the Fleshjack is manufactured to be very durable. Unlike other cheap masturbators which split and degrade over time, my Fleshjack has remained in virtually the same condition it was on the day I bought it.
The one thing that puts me off using my Fleshjack as much as I might otherwise like to is the maintenance, because frankly it’s a bit of a hassle. Once you’ve finished enjoying your Fleshjack you’re going to want to clean it, to remove the sticky amalgam of lube and bodily fluids that is clinging to the inner walls of the insert. To make matters easier the ends of the case can both be removed and the insert slid free, allowing each part to be washed separately. When washing the insert it’s important to not use any form of soap, as the ingredients in it can be harmful to the material and will shorten its lifespan. You want to either submerge the insert in a basin of warm water, and then use a finger to agitate the internal channel until you can no longer feel any residue, or place one opening beneath a fast running tap and allow it to rinse through for a few minutes. Once you’re certain the insert is clean, shake off the excess water and leave it somewhere to air dry. You don’t want to use a towel as particles will stick to the surface of the insert. When you have allowed the insert to fully dry you’ll notice that the surface of material has become incredibly sticky – the Ice material does this much more so than the standard – and could lead to an “oh God, I’ve ruined it” moment, but rest assured this is perfectly normal. Now you can store the insert like this, but the tacky surface makes it quite difficult to slide back into the case, and just generally isn’t that nice. To restore the material to its original condition you need to coat the whole surface with a thin layer of corn flour. Needless to say this is time consuming and can make quite a mess, leaving more white powder in your bathroom than Whitney Houston’s. With that completed your Fleshjack will be good as new and you can put it away ready for next time, so it’s certainly worth doing, but it is a lot of effort to go to, so don’t be surprised if you find yourself thinking twice next time you go to use it, and settling on some lube and a tissue instead.
I would definitely recommend a Fleshjack to anyone looking for a good quality masturbator. In my opinion they can be a little overpriced, however, so if you can find one on sale for £35-£45 then snap it up without hesitation!
